For
children of any age, experiencing the breakdown of the relationship of
your parents or guardians can be devastating. For some however, if violence
has been involved it could be a huge relief. Trying to understand your
own emotions can be difficult enough and trying to understand your parents
can be impossible. Try to keep talking with your parent(s) and through
everything try to stay focused on your own interests and life. Keep busy,
join a club, take up a sport and try to talk to someone about how you
are feeling. Everyone needs to express their emotions. Try to talk to
someone who can give you good advice, a relation, a teacher, a counsellor
or a friend. Try to be patient; things will come right in the end.
